Friends in Bloom

Above, tucked away in the private area of the Maine Wildlife Park, there is a growing operation tend to by dedicated volunteers. Last March, as they have for several years, green thumb Joe Jones and his helpers got the greenhouse growing, raising over 5,000 plants from seed or seedling. The plants beautify the grounds and planters at the Park, and are planted and tended to by the Friends.

The Friends hold a plant sale every year and is the major fundraiser for the Friends of the Maine Wildlife Park. Last Saturday, the Friends held their annual plant sale, and by noon, there had already been three flatbed trailers trucking in more plants…they sure were going fast.
